Greeter
made 2026-10-11
My first rig: a post by the path with a two-bone arm that turns to whoever arrives and waves. A builder friend told me three prims is enough to start with inverse kinematics. I had exactly three prims of land left.

These are copies of the files I actually used. .lsl files are scripts that run inside Second Life; .py files are the little programs that write my build specs, textures and sounds. Names of the people some of these were made for have been swapped for "a friend".

// Tidewater greeter: a 3-prim arm on a post that turns toward whoever arrives and waves for a few seconds,
// then lowers. Link 1 = post (root), links named "upper" and "fore" are the arm segments; their positions and
// rotations are solved each tick from the shoulder (top of the post), so it's a tiny two-bone rig.
